About our Studio Venue

In the Rainbow Factory® Art Studio and Party Venue, you’ll enjoy two bright and beautiful class/party rooms, two bars for catering or bartending, party hosts with big smiles, an outdoor patio, and tasteful, festive decor. Seriously. It’s party perfection.

Having your party at your home or other venue? Our Rainbow Specialists will pack everything up and bring it all to you! They’ll entertain your guests with dazzling creativity then magically clean it up and leave everything how they found it. Magnificent.

Mini-Makers (ages 2-5)

Fall Semester 2025:

August 4 - December 19 (register anytime throughout semester)

This popular preschool art class will get your little one’s creativity flowing while you make hands-on projects together, side-by- side. And don’t worry, we handle the clean-up!

Each week, we’ll dive into color, texture, and simple techniques through fun, process-based projects that spark imagination and build confidence. It’s not about perfect masterpieces. It’s about making memories, getting a little messy, and enjoying quality creative time with your favorite mini artist.

In addition to a guided project, every class includes time for freestyle creative play. Think painting stations, collaborative murals, sensory materials, and more.

Best of all, your child gets to practice sharing, taking turns, and collaborating with others in a joyful, low-pressure environment made for connection and creativity.

Guardians join in the fun. Not a drop-off class.

FUNdamentals of Art

LEVEL ONE (K-2nd Gr)

Mondays / Tuesdays / Thursdays (one day/week)

Form, perspective, composition, and color theory are among the fundamentals of art that even a Kindergartener can learn and appreciate.  Through creative play and experimentation with all sorts of art mediums, your little artist will learn all about these important concepts, and they’ll be counting the days until next class!

Types of projects:

  • Process-based art: Focus on experimenting, playing with tools, and enjoying the journey—it’s all about creativity, not perfection!
  • Step-by-step art: Learn to follow directions while mastering cool techniques and creating something awesome.

This class is perfect for young artists ready to take their skills to the next level. With a more focused and learning-based approach, students will deepen their understanding of art techniques while discovering their unique creative voice.

  • Drawing fundamentals: The cornerstone of skilled artistry, with lessons on figures, portraiture, and still lifes.
  • Color theory: Unlock the secrets of color and how it influences all branches of creative art and design.
  • Project variety: A blend of skill practice, personal process development, and step-by-step art.


What they’ll learn:
Shading, proportion, perspective, and a deeper understanding of color theory.

Skills they’ll hone: Drawing, painting, mixed media, and sculpture art.

Drawing and Color Theory

Intro to Drawing and Color Theory (6th-12th Gr)

Mondays

This class is perfect for young artists ready to build a strong foundation in both drawing and color! It’s a great fit for beginners or those who want to strengthen their skills in a fun, supportive environment.

Here’s what they’ll dive into:
• Core drawing skills (line variety, shape, shading, and proportion)
• Color theory basics, using colored pencils, markers, and inks
• Observation and attention to detail

Project variety:
• Pencil and ink sketches
• Color exercises and themed illustrations
• Still life, abstract, and expressive pieces

Each semester is different. Students may re-enroll to keep growing their skills, take on new challenges, and prepare for more advanced classes or portfolio work.

Comic Art and Illustration

BEGINNER Comic Art & Illustration (4th - 12th)

Fridays

A fun, beginner-friendly class for students who love to draw characters and tell stories.
 
In this class, we’ll explore the basics of comic-style drawing, including how to create simple characters, show emotions, and design easy comic panels. Students will learn how pictures and words work together to tell a story, all while building their confidence and creative voice.
 
Each week includes fun drawing exercises, step-by-step guidance, and time to experiment with their own ideas. By the end of the session, students will create their own short comic strip to share and be proud of!
 
Students are welcome to re-enroll in this class as many times as they like. When the instructor feels they’re ready, they’ll be invited to move up to the intermediate class.
 

Taught by local comic artist, Xavier Jones. Xavier has an amazing talent and passion for all forms of comic art and has been teaching art for over 25 years.

This class is for students who have completed at least one semester of “Intro to Drawing and Color Theory” and who are excited about building their illustrative skills. In this intermediate class, we’ll explore character drawing, expressions, and visual storytelling while introducing new creative challenges at a comfortable pace.
 
Students will develop their own ideas through guided exercises, sketching time, and supportive feedback, all while gaining confidence, refining their style, and exploring longer or more detailed comic projects.
 
Students are welcome to re-enroll in this intermediate course as many times as desired to further build and hone these skills. When the instructor feels they’re ready, they’ll be invited to join the advanced class.
 
Taught by professional comic artist, Xavier Jones. Xavier has an incredible talent and passion for all forms of comic art and has been teaching art for over 25 years.

Students with even the most impressive drawing skills need to understand the fundamentals of illustration design in order to reach their potential as an art student and perhaps prepare for a rewarding career in illustration.

This advanced course dives deep into the fundamentals of illustration design, including color theory, perspective, advanced textures, and more.
